Daniel Arsham
It makes sense that Daniel Arsham has become obsessed with golf. The New York based artist is world famous for blurring the lines between art, architecture and performance, now he gets to do the same on the course. We set Daniel up on Cascadia Golf Club in South Korea, one of the best canvases golf has to offer.
"I ended up playing Cascadia on a whim when I was in Korea for my exhibition. It was a pretty intimidating course but also beautiful. I had never really played a mountain course like that. There are a lot of holes where you're teeing off a couple of hundred feet above the fairway, and it feels like your drives go forever. There are a couple of par threes that back up into really epic water scenarios, one of them with a 30-foot-tall waterfall behind it. I hit that one into the water.”
“The experience of playing golf in Korea was so special for me. This was my first time playing there. Just the whole setup—the golf carts, everything—was really manicured and prepared. And the clubhouse at Cascadia was really epic, from the first entrance to the incredible spa and sauna. The food was really great, and the caddy, even though she didn't speak English that well, was really amazing."
